About Gary...

 
 

Gary Price is a native of Utica, NY.  He graduated from Proctor High School where his artwork was encouraged by his teachers, mentors and fellow artists Guy Danella and Gina Esposito.  From there, he moved to Boston and graduated from the Art Institute of Boston, majoring in Illustration.


Upon graduation, Gary worked as the Art Director/Creative Director in the Boston area where his clients including Converse Sneaker, The Boston Museum of Science, Fleet Bank and WHDH Radio. While there, he met and married his wife Vivian. 


In 1976, they moved back to the Utica area following the birth of his daughter Jessica.  In that same year, he founded Price Design which continues to serve local and national clients today.  Price Design specializes in Illustration and Graphic Design.  In 1997 he was joined in business by his daughter Sarah.


Gary developed a cartoon illustration style. One of the things he is especially proud of is the many illustrations he has done over the years for the national children’s magazines Humpty Dumpty, Young World and Children’s Digest


As a young man and still today, Gary looks up to the work of Maxfied Parrish & Norman Rockwell .


Nine years ago, Gary returned to his boyhood love of painting.
